Day One-Hundred and Nineteen

Tonight I went to a friend's house to celebrate her birthday. We played the game "Life." Guess what job I got? We all thought it was fitting. I have to say that beyond that I should not write anything else today. I am very cranky tonight. I made an awesome grade on my management paper and I spent great quality time with a friend this afternoon, but something tweaked and my night was not as pleasant as the day. Sorry to those of you who put up with me. I apologize for snapping and any other negative behavior I may have exhibited.

Day One-Hundred and Eighteen

And thus ends the classes for my sophomore year! I have 5 finals next week, but no more classes. What better way to celebrate than go shopping!? Right? The horrible part about shopping is finding something that fits the way you want it to. Fits not just your butt, but also fits your wallet. These didn't fit my wallet, but it helped that my sister gave me a gift card.
Today was another awesome day, but I won't tell you everything that happened because yesterday someone got jealous..... I took her out on a date today, I hope Elizabeth feels less jealous now.

Day One-Hundred and Sixteen

You can save 3 lives by donating 1 pint of blood. Each time you donate bone marrow you can save 1 life. You can save countless lives as a doctor or a pastor. How can you save more than 50 lives without doing anything? Become an organ donor! I gave a speech about it last year but never signed up. Today the bone marrow registry asked me if I was a donor and I had to say no. That's when I decided I was signing up. I mean, if I'm dead, I don't need eyes, lungs, kidneys or anything else for that matter. But I could save someone's...lots of someones' lives! You should be an organ donor! I hope you don't die, but if you did, I would be happy to know your organs gave life to someone else.

Day One-Hundred and Fifteen

Want to save up to 3 lives? If you spend 30 minutes with "vampires" you can! I try to do this frequently. Today I went to see if my iron was high enough to donate. Sure enough it was over the necessary 12.5 and I was able to share my health with people who are unhealthy. I wish everyone realized that it's not really bad. Just don't look at the needle or blood. When they stick you, talk to someone on the other side and you won't even feel it. Carter Blood Care strives to collect 1,100 donations each day. That's a lot of people.

I will admit that I felt slightly nauseous afterword because I needed some water. All day I felt kind of tired, but I am still alive and now someone else can live.

     Random Fact: I am O+

Day One-Hundred and Fourteen

Is it possible that the guy to girl ratio is become equal? Our dinner table had 7 guys and 7 girls. Oddly enough, it appears that we have regressed to segregation. Notice that all the girls are on the right and all the guys are on the left.
Today was a great day. My first two classes were cancelled and I didn't have to get up until 10am. Then I had coffee and went to chapel to see my friends receive awards. One class before lunch. Then I could have skipped my last class, but wanted to go anyways. I'm just excited that I am exempt from that final!
Why am I excited to skip classes that costs more than $55 per in-class hour??

Day One-Hundred and Thirteen

For my mother, who was so wonderful to cook me home-cooked food while I was home this weekend, I will do a shout out. Mostly because she complained that I wasn't writing about her food.
Saturday morning's French toast and chicken was amazing! Thanks so much for cooking breakfast! Then again today, you slaved away in the kitchen to make me Yummy Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas! Such mouth watering food!! You are an amazing cook mom! I love you! See that 5th window back? That is where the 5th & 6th graders meet for Sunday School (SS). When I was 10 and 11, I went to SS there. My teacher still teaches and is always 15 minutes late. It's pretty funny how some things never change. Last summer when I was home, a boy in the class was confused about my summer physics class. He didn't know why I was in summer school. He thought that I was in 5th or 6th grade and couldn't believe that I was in college. I was kind of upset by that, but found it humorous at the same time. Since I was in town today, I went to SS again. No one assumed that I was 10 years old. But it occurred to me that these children weren't alive when I was originally in this class. It made me feel really old.

Day One-Hundred and Twelve

Personally, I believe that every individual should know the basics about cars. If you are able to drive a car, you should know how to:
  1. Fill up with the correct type of fuel
  2. Change a tire
  3. Give a jump
  4. Change the battery
  5. Check fluids (oil, washer, etc.)
  6. Change the oil
I fill up my truck with gas often. I have changed a tire on a trailer. I gave my dad a jump once. I know how to change a battery. I checked the oil today after changing it.
Opening the oil pan plug took a lot of strength. Obviously it was messy, but I didn't drop the screw into the oil. Next came the filter. Ford is notorious for bad placement of oil filters. Suffice it to say, that was horrible. We had to go buy an oil filter wrench and then I could only rotate it about 5 degrees before I had to readjust it because there was so little room. When it came off, the oil that spilled out got all over the place because the axle is directly beneath it. Opened up the top and let it drain a while. On went the new filter, back in went the plug; all tight and ready to go! I poured in 6 quarts of oil and my truck was happy. I like working on cars, even if it's dirty!

PS. If you don't understand what I am talking about or can't imagine the process in your head, talk to a MAN and tell him you want to learn how to change oil. It's not a necessary skill, but it is still a good one to have.

PPS. I had an awesome time tonight hanging out with CC and friends. Group games are so much fun!
