Day One-Hundred and Sixty-Five

PARENT UPDATE: I talked to my parents tonight and they are doing well. Everyone is safe and the luggage made it. Mom had a great birthday, but she misses us. Please pray for their safety and my sanity. It's rough not being able to call them whenever I need.
So what if it's page 14? I am in the newspaper! I went to check the mail and saw the All Around Wise. Opening it, I saw LeTourneau on the first page. Apparently two young women from the area graduated in May. I need to get out more because I had no clue that Colleen was from Rhome. Seeing my name in the newspaper was the highlight of my day!

I spent a lot of time today thinking about the fall semester. I made my schedule and started looking for books. All new books from the book store is over $1,200. If I bought them all new from Chegg, I could get them from around $925. All used or rentals from the book store is still $850. At Chegg, if I only rent books, I could get off as low as $350. But Mrs. B told me to keep my Intermediate Accounting book, a $200 book! So, it will end up being around $500 for one semester! Why is school so expensive?!

Tangent: I cooked two times for myself today. First, I baked a can of 8 buttermilk biscuits and ate 3 of them, one with jelly! Then I stored the other 5 in a container because cooking for one person is lame*. Dinner rolled around and I decided to be a good steward of my food. Instead of letting it start to decay, I took two biscuits and cut them open. I "fried" them up with a little olive oil while I heated lunch meat in the other pan. When they were golden brown and the ham was warm, I put cheese on the biscuits and topped with ham. Add a Dr. Pepper and it was a decent dinner.

*Cooking for one person is not lame and single people aren't lame, I just don't like having leftovers.
