As progress on the house is continuing, tension is rising. Who will be voted off the Island this week? Okay we aren’t going to vote anyone off of the island. In fact, we don’t actually have an island. But we could throw someone over the border! But that would be rather rude and most likely, they would throw me. What’s my point again?! Oh, yeah. That’s right, tension is rising as the time to complete the house starts dwindling away and there is still so much to be done. You can hear, see and almost feel the stress. Two whole days spent on dry wall, but we finished hanging it all tonight.
Just two pieces up this morning; Jacob, Gustav and I felt we had a groove. That’s when “The Cursed Sheet” came to us. It was measured and cut. As we went to hang it, we noticed it was too short. Oh no! We had measured from an extruding board and not the wall. Never fear, we can cut it shorter, back to the previous joist. Oh there is a light socket hole in the ceiling? No worries, we can cut a hole. And a cord too? No problem. Time to go up! Hurry, hurry; get the screws in there; my arms hurt! Ten screws should be enough, let go. Zzzzzziinnnggggg $%#^, Eleven screws. *Turns to pick up next screw* CRASH! BANG! CLATTER! *shock* Looks back* Noooooooooooo! Sheet Rock lying on the floor, screws still in the ceiling.
That’s how our day started…
*Red Box indicates where the dry wall fell from.
