Day One-Hundred and Forty-Six

My hand was wrapped so tightly that it swelled up to about double it's usual size. Underneath the wrap it was compressed and still normal sized. It was a rather frightening sight at first to see the two different sizes of my hand. The doctor removed the splint and took x-rays. Thankfully, nothing was broken or fractured. I am supposed to go to PT twice a week for three weeks so I can regain full range of motion in my hand and arm. Additionally, I am to come off hydrocodone and take 2 Aleve twice a day for a while to get the inflammation to go down in my arm and neck.

With the splint off, my hand can get wet again. I washed my hands for the first time since Tuesday! Before, I was really only able to wash my right hand which was frustrating because I like to wash away the germs on both of my hands. But, I made do. My mommy was so nice to share her left hand with me and together we washed my hand properly. It was REALLY awesome to wash both of my own hands today! I'm still really stiff and trying to remember how to move my arm. With my hand slightly swollen, it stretches me to close my hand. I am so thankful for all the prayers!
